Prior to submitting your art, we ask that everyone reviews our submission guidelines. Reviewing the guidelines will help ensure your art is eligible to be on display during the showcase.

Categories and Awards

Submissions are organized into four age categories, and jurors select award winners within each category.

Child

Ages 5 to 10

Two Creative Power Awards: $50 cash prize and trophy

One Merit Award: $25 cash prize and award certificate

Youth

Ages 11 to 15

Two Creative Power Awards: $50 cash prize and trophy

One Merit Award: $25 cash prize and award certificate

Young Adult

Ages 11 to 15

Two Creative Power Awards: $100 cash prize and trophy

One Merit Award: $100 cash prize and award certificate

Adult

Ages 22 and older

Four Creative Power Awards: $400 cash prize and trophy

One Merit Award: $100 cash prize and award certificate

The Creative Power program provides public recognition of the artistic talents and contributions of children and adults with disabilities across Wisconsin. The Creative Power Call for Art is open to Wisconsin residents ages five and older who identify as having a disability.

Creative Power begins with a free annual Call for Art by children and adults with disabilities. We display all Call for Art submissions in the Creative Power Showcase and invite the public to experience the artwork online and in person. Judges select prize-winning pieces from the showcase, honoring creativity, originality, and craftsmanship. Each year, ten award-winning pieces join the Creative Power Collection, a traveling exhibition that tours community spaces around Wisconsin. We honor all Call for Art submitters and award winners at the annual Creative Power Celebration.
