Teaching Artists

 

Are you a passionate and experienced teaching artist eager to make a meaningful impact in the community? Join our dynamic team at ARTS for ALL Wisconsin and be part of a transformative journey where the arts become a powerful tool for healing and well-being.

If you are artist interested in this opportunity but do not yet have teaching experience, please reach out. We offer teaching artist mentorships so that you can gain the skills you need to share your knowledge and craft.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver educational programs designed for children and/or adults with disabilities using expertise in your artistic discipline(s).
  • Develop and implement lesson plans to meet the unique needs of diverse populations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and community partners to enhance the impact of our educational programs.
  • Provide progress reports and assessments through post-program evaluations.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable expertise in the discipline(s) of Visual Art, Creative Writing, Dance, Drama or Music.
  • Arts teaching experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience working with diverse populations is a plus.
  • Passion for leveraging the arts as a means of healing and empowerment.

What We Offer

  • This is a part-time hourly position.
  • Starting rate is $40/hour.

Certified Art/Dance/Music/Drama Therapists

  • Conduct therapeutic sessions using your expertise in Art, Dance, or Music Therapy.
  • Develop and implement customized therapy plans to meet the unique needs of diverse populations.
  • Collaborate with other professionals and community partners to enhance the impact of therapeutic programs.
  • Document and evaluate the progress of clients, ensuring the highest standards of care.

  • Certified in Art, Dance, or Music Therapy.

Board of Directors


We envision a future where AFA is stronger and more resilient, enabling us to make an even greater impact in our community. We are seeking passionate board members who share our vision and are eager to help us expand our reach and provide support to those who need it most.

We are seeking individuals with expertise in the following areas:

    • Legal: Knowledge of non-profit laws, contracts, and intellectual property.
    • Healthcare: Knowledge and experience within the healthcare system, particularly with disability community
    • Education: Background in special education, arts education, or inclusive education practices.
    • Fundraising: Skills in donor cultivation, grant writing, and strategic fundraising planning.
    • Real Estate: Experience in managing and acquiring property for non-profit organizations.
    • Insurance: Familiarity with insurance policies and risk management for non-profits.

Additionally, we value candidates who:

    • Identify as having a disability
    • Identify as people of color or as indigenous (BIPOC)
    • Have direct experience with disabilities or have a deep understanding of the disability experience.
    • Are passionate about our mission and dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities through the arts.
    • Have experience in non-profit governance, community outreach, or related fields.
    • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Are willing to actively participate in board meetings and committees.
    • Can dedicate approximately 5-10 hours per month to board-related activities.
    • Have connections within the community that could benefit our organization.
