A Note on Reading Poetry
We share the work of artists and writers because we believe that art is a universal and essential language that challenges people to respond to the world, look beyond themselves, and celebrate diversity by building bridges between people, across cultures, and through generations. We also believe that art can be a tool for healing.
We make a point to share ALL the work submitted through our Call for Poetry.
We do not censor art or attempt to limit the imagination, creativity, or the essential individual voice of any artist. This means that the viewer/reader of artwork should be mindful of the potential to encounter imagery or language that may not be suitable for everyone. The themes or language of some poetry may be mature, graphic, or simply not in line with an individual viewer's personal taste. And that's ok.
We ask only that you be aware of this and if you choose to read the poetry that you please join us in appreciating the artists for the courage of their expression.
