Winneconne, Wisconsin artist Joyce J. Gust says of her work, “creating art is my love, passion, and joy. I wish to somehow help others with my work; to spiritually heal, to inspire, uplift and transcend the human condition.” Ms. Gust describes herself as an experimental artist, making her own paper for her collages and paints for special colors. Her undergraduate work at Marquette University in physics and chemistry influences her art. “It evokes many visual imaginary models to convey ideas, a different type of nomenclature to express abstract theories.”
When speaking about her disability she states, "I have Multiple Sclerosis, now DX with primarily progressive M.S. (hope for remission) and Degenerative Spinal Disease. But, spiritually I am very well. My theme is never to give up hope!"
